Bridge to Terabithia: Dust Jacket

This piece required that I chose a book on the ALA banned book list and recreate the dust jacket using whatever design elements needed in order to protest it’s ban. Growing up The Bridge to Terabithia was both my favorite and the saddest book I read as a child. When I found out this book had been on the banned book list for Library’s everywhere I immediately choose it for this assignment. As far as my design elements go, I chose to design this cover towards younger children after contemplating the books content. This book does have a tragic ending however I believe it still teaches important concepts of life especially to children in grade school. Other design aspects of the cover include the spine. I wanted to leave room for a library to leave a barcode in order to label, place, and checkout the book.
